Faith and service is my school’s motto and I guess I have
lived with the fact that if you are a nurse you should consider yourself as a
servant to people. Catering to people’s needs is the essential role of a nurse.
I never thought that I would end up becoming one because I thought that I will
never be that person taking care of other people.
I studied this course because my parent’s wanted me to
become a nurse, thinking some day that I will give them a comfortable life with
my profession. I never wanted to become one but in the long run in studying I
began to love what I do. I see patients that need utmost care and I find
treating and caring for them worth my while. I always feel like that every time
I give them what they need, I ease their pain and they become a better person
which makes them heal faster.
Being a nurse is not an easy task, it is like a doctor with
lots of responsibilities. A nurse caters to the patients and to the doctors as
well, we cater to the needs of everyone in the hospital. That is why I always believe
in the saying that nursing is caring. Becoming a nurse means a lot of
responsibility, you need to be responsible for what you act on and you need to
be responsible for others too.
A nurse alleviates the suffering of others, they relieve
one’s pain and most of all they protect a person from experiencing further
pain. These are the elements that one should consider in becoming a nurse. It
is not that easy to become one but if you dedicate yourself you will be. After
all nursing is not a mere profession, it is a calling.

Going to a college is a privilege for most students after
graduating from high school. You are fortunate if your parents are well off, or
if you have someone who would finance your schooling through college. I believe
that college is the most important part of your life because in this stage you
begin to know what you want in the future. You mold your personality and you
begin to know who you really are during this stage.
I was lucky that my grandparents where well of and send me
to a good school. I never knew that I would finish it and make it through my
college days. I was never a good student, I was always late and I lack skills
such as making homework’s and projects during my high school life. But when I entered college I was amazed of
myself because I had put on extra efforts to make myself a better student. Then
I realized that I was beginning to be a better person than before.
During my college days, I was trying to be a good student
than I was before and I did. I finished college with the help of a lot of
people and I had friends that made me stronger. I earned a lot during my
college days, I earned respect from the people around me and to the people I
have worked with. But the most important thing that I earned during my college
days was that I become the person whom I think I never would imagine it to be.
I learn to be independent and I paid my way through the hard days of college
life. I become the person whom I wanted to be, a person with his own mind and
takes in responsibilities for others.
We should always realize what we wanted for ourselves and
through this realization we take in responsibilities that make us a better
person. Through education we never stop learning from it and we never stop
realizing what we really are.
